The Friends of Camas Prairie Park are pleased to announce that, after meeting or exceeding all the metrics of the initial 2 year lease,  the City of Port Townsend has agreed to extend our lease  another 20 years.

Over the past 2 years over 150 volunteers have averaged 1000 hours a month working to improve the Park and increase access.  Along with our professional staff, we  have expanded natural areas with native plants, established an east/west trail, dramatically improved greens, added an 18 basket disc golf course, and are in the initial phases of developing a miniature putt putt course.  Our First Sunday events have drawn over 3000 attendees.  We’ve hosted educational and recreational events for over 300 youth in our community.

Other environmental and sustainability improvements include our transition to electric golf carts, soon to be solar powered.  We have significantly reduced the use of herbicides & pesticides, and with the aid of City staff, removed years of stored toxic chemicals.

Beyond the course, our remodeled Coyote & Crow Restaurant now offers a full service bar, serves lunch daily Tuesday through Sunday 11am - 2 pm and Weekend Brunch 9 am - noon Saturday and Sunday.
